In Saturday’s Liverpool Roundup, an approach has been made for Harry Wilson, contract talks are lined up and more!
Liverpool receive official approach for Harry Wilson
Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards has received an official approach from Benfica for Harry Wilson but the club’s £12m valuation is yet to be met.
The Portuguese outfit has asked about Wilson with West Brom and Brentford also interested in the 24-year-old Welsh forward.
Liverpool, according to Goal’s Neil Jones, are looking to sell Wilson and will demand £12million for his services which is a fair price given he scored 7 goals and assisted 12 in the Championship this season.
This is an interesting one. Anfield Central understands that after holding talks with Edwards for Harvey Elliott, the newly-promoted Premier League side has switched their focus to Wilson.
LFC biding their time in hunt for ‘new Wijnaldum’
Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool are biding their time in their ‘hunt for the new Gini Wijnaldum’ and a potential Michael Edwards masterclass is on the cards.
“I’ve seen many rumours about Bissouma and Neuhaus. There are players appreciated but nothing is going on,” he told the Here We Go podcast.
“Liverpool want to wait for the right opportunity for the heir of Wijnaldum. But at the moment there is still nothing advanced.”
Liverpool are not in talks to sign Kylian Mbappe
Claims have been made by Rudy Galetti and by Marca that Liverpool are exploring a deal to sign Kylian Mbappe from PSG but it won’t happen this summer.
The first claim came from Rudy Galetti, who says that the Reds are ‘ready to offer a monster salary to convince the French player.’
As Fabrizio Romano said on Twitter when asked about FSG being ready to offer Mbappe huge money: “Rumours coming from who/where?! There’s nothing!”

Ode to Jordan Henderson
Jordan Henderson is crucial to Liverpool returning to the pinnacle of the Premier League season after a third-placed finish this time around.
CIES Football Observatory values Henderson at €30million but Liverpool fans will argue that he is priceless.
Contract extensions aren’t celebrated as much as a player’s first deal with the club and it’s easy to understand why but I’m taking this opportunity to celebrate a player that is vital to Liverpool on and off the pitch.

Liverpool three contract extensions ASAP
Liverpool are working on extending Fabinho’s contract and want to agree extensions for Alisson and Virgil van Dijk as soon as possible.
Speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has said that Liverpool are working on extending Fabinho’s contract and will soon turn to Alisson and van Dijk.
He said: “At the moment there is nothing advanced. Their priority is sorting out new contracts for Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk. They’re working on Fabinho’s deal. They want to extend the contracts of Alisson and Van Dijk as soon as possible.”
Last week, the Italian journalist claimed that signing an attacker is Liverpool’s priority despite Wijnaldum’s exit.
Opinion: Liverpool should sign Son and Ndombele
Tottenham are yet to appoint a manager to replace Jose Mourinho and Liverpool need to use this as a chance to sign Tanguy Ndombele and Son Heung-Min.
Sky Sports claims that the North London outfit is in talks with Nuno Espirito Santo after talks with Antonio Conte and Paulo Fonseca broke down.
Son scored 22 goals and assisted 17 in all competitions this season and showed why he is rated so highly.
The French midfielder might just be the only midfielder in the Premier League that can match Wijnaldum’s ability to evade a high press.

Konate pictured training hard on holiday
Upon signing he told the club’s official website: “It’s a really exciting moment for me and my family and I am really looking forward to meeting my new teammates, the staff and getting started on this new chapter.”
The deal will cost Liverpool £54.2m over the next five years as the Reds will pay Konate £70,000/week and 18.2m over the course of his contract.
Leipzig were paid £36million after the Bundesliga side refused to allow Liverpool to pay his release clause in instalments and he is now working hard to get in shape for the 2021/22 Premier League season.
Talks planned to sign Donyell Malen
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Liverpool are in fact interested in signing Donyell Malen as Anfield Central reported on Thursday.
Speaking while on East India Comedy’s 4-4-Two podcast, Romano said that both Liverpool and Borrusia Dortmund are looking at ‘Donny Malen.’
As we reported earlier this week, signing Malen would cost around €29million (£25m) according to the last contact that Liverpool had with PSV which is believed to be ‘some months ago.’

Konate will report for training on July 12th
Pre-season will start on the 12th of July and he will be able to get all the preparation he needs to start like a house on fire for Liverpool.
The Reds have committed to paying a package deal worth as much as €63m (£54.2m), with the 22-year-old set to earn €21.1m (£18.2m) over the course of his five-year deal with the Anfield outfit.
France’s official Twitter account announced the team that will travel to the Tokyo Games from July 21 and Konate is not amongst those named.
