In Thursday’s Liverpool round up, a decision is confirmed on Kabak’s future, Remi Savage leaves the club and Ibrahima Konate officially joins.
Confirmed: Kabak will not join Liverpool permanently
Ozan Kabak and Liverpool Football Club have confirmed via their respective social media accounts that he will not be staying at Anfield.
The Turkish defender took to Instagram to say: “I would like to thank you for the compassion and support you have shown towards me since the day I arrived.
Liverpool re-tweeted the same message on Twitter and in doing so have confirmed that they will not make his loan move from Schalke to Merseyside a permanent one.
Opinion: Liverpool should sign Goretzka and Coman
If Jurgen Klopp signs Leon Goretzka for £63million and Kingsley for £58.5m, he’d be adding two world-class players to his starting XI.
Goretzka, who was knocked out of the EUROs by England on Tuesday, has just one year left on his contract and he’d be a great option to poach this summer.
Coman got 8 goals and 15 assists this season and at 25, is set to enter his career’s golden years.
Official: Remi Savage secures Newcastle United switch
Newcastle United have confirmed that 19-year-old Remi Savage has joined them as Liam Millar nears a Merseyside exit as well.
A post from the Magpies website reads: “Savage arrives from his boyhood club Liverpool, where he had been since the age of five.
“Now 19 years old, he is predominately a left-sided centre-back but is also comfortable at left-back.”
Konate ‘officially’ becomes a Liverpool player
His RB Leipzig contract expired at midnight and Ibrahima Konate has ‘officially’ become a Liverpool player after his move to the Premier League was announced in May.
The Reds have committed to paying a package deal worth as much as €63m (£54.2m), with the 22-year-old set to earn €21.1m (£18.2m) over the course of his five-year deal with the Anfield outfit.
The Liverpool ECHO now reports that after his contract with RB Leipzig expired at midnight on Wednesday 30 June 2020, “the France U21 international officially becomes a Reds player today.”
Kylian Mbappe will NOT sign a new contract
A report from L’Equipe suggests that sources close to PSG are aware that Kylian Mbappe will not put pen to paper on a new contract.
GFFN cites French newspaper L’Equipe as saying, “Mbappe has informed certain individuals at PSG that he will not be signing a contract extension with the capital club but that he will see out the final year of his deal, which runs until June 2022.”
Liverpool’s only realistic chance of signing the Frenchman is by scooping him up on a free agent move and even then his huge wages could become an issue.
Arsenal win race to sign Nuno Tavares
After Liverpool and Newcastle United made “exploratory contacts” regarding Nuno Tavares, Arsenal have won the race for his signature.
While Liverpool are set to miss out on one Nuno, they seem to have turned their attention to another after reports last week detailed interest in Sporting Lisbon’s Nuno Mendes.
Liverpool are now turning their attention to Sporting Lisbon star Nuno Mendes, Record’s website now reports.
