Liverpool are a point away from clinching their 20th top-flight title, and have grand ambitions for the summer transfer window. The club want to back Arne Slot’s vision in the next window, but are facing the real threat of losing a player they had no plans to sell until recently.
Slot has plans to revamp the squad ahead of next season and is pushing to bring in as many as five new signings in the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, the Liverpool manager is also clear about not wanting to lose some of his top stars, and wants the club to tie down several stars on new deals.
But things have not gone according to plan in some of the negotiations, and Liverpool are running the risk of losing one of their top stars this summer.

The Reds plot more talks to convince a player to stay

The Ibrahima Konate situation has become worrying for Liverpool, who previously had no plans to sell the Frenchman in the summer transfer window.
He is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract, and negotiations over a new deal have gone on for months, but there has been zero progress.
Liverpool believe Konate’s head has been turned by interest from his hometown club Paris Saint-Germain, but the club are not resigned to losing him yet.
According to TEAMTalk, the club are set to hold more talks with the defender and his representatives to find an agreement over a new contract.
Konate’s wage demands have shocked Liverpool, but the Reds hope that a compromise will be agreed upon for the Frenchman to commit his future to Anfield.
However, the Reds will be forced to sell him in the summer if the defender refuses to sign a new contract with the club in the coming weeks and months.
