Liverpool can finally sign £120k/week ace with €40million bid after holding talks in the summer over personal terms

Liverpool are interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans and are said to be ready to offer €40million to sign the Belgian after holding talks last summer over personal terms which were apparently not an issue for the Reds.

He was a target in the summer for the Reds but nothing materialised and he stayed at the King Power Stadium and Liverpool didn’t sign a replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.

It’s a decision that Jurgen Klopp has been forced to defend countless times in his pressers but it’s one that I don’t think the German actually believes was the right choice.

Gini was such an important cog in the well-oiled Liverpool machine that won the Premier League title with 99 points and had the club not been struck by so many defensive injuries in his final season, it’s likely the Reds would have won the league again.

Manchester City wound up winning the title but only on 86 points and not the usual 90+ that has been required in recent seasons.

Liverpool need a new midfielder.

That’s plain to see.

Thiago is ageing and injury-prone, Naby Keita is gifted but his contract has less than 18 months remaining and with injuries hampering his time at Anfield he is yet to prove himself while Jordan Henderson’s levels have dipped tremendously since his contract renewal.

James Milner will leave the club in the summer when his contract expires while Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott have yet to prove themselves with too few opportunities to come their way yet.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is 28 and injury-prone and looks unlikely to make the most of his potential which is unfortunate which leaves Fabinho as the only midfielder at the club who poses no worrying questions to Jurgen Klopp.

In fact, the Brazilian has three goals in 2021.

El Nacional reports that Liverpool are preparing a €40million bid for Youri Tielamans but the report states that Real Madrid are also interested and Leicester would prefer to sell to a club outside the Premier League for obvious reasons.

Liverpool reportedly held talks to sign the ace in the summer but the Foxes managed to cling onto the £120,000 per week star.

Tielemans has everything that a midfielder needs to succeed under Klopp and his ability to score from range would be another feather in Liverpool’s hat.
