Liverpool want to move on certain targets sooner rather than later as they push to back Arne Slot’s vision for the squad ahead of next season. The Reds are keen to get the ball rolling on transfers soon, and it seems they are closing in on one of their top targets.
Slot is set to win the Premier League in the coming weeks, and wants to wield the power he has acquired by revamping the squad in the upcoming transfer window.
The Liverpool manager is looking at a complete reshaping of the attack around Mo Salah, who signed a new two-year contract to end all speculation over his future.
However, he also wants defensive reinforcements, and it has been claimed that the club are making progress in securing a deal for a defender ahead of the summer.

Liverpool are advancing on a deal to sign Milos Kerkez

Liverpool want a long-term replacement for Andy Robertson. Kostas Tsimikas is not seen as the solution, and he could be moving on in the summer.
Milos Kerkez has long been identified as the top target, and Liverpool have been plotting a double deal to sign him and his Bournemouth teammate Dean Huijsen this summer.
According to i Paper (cited by Liverpool World), Liverpool are pressing forward in their attempts to sign Kerkez in the summer transfer window.
The Reds are making progress in negotiations over a deal to take the left-back to Anfield as Robertson’s heir in the team.
Arsenal have also been linked with an interest in Kerkez, but Liverpool remain the frontrunners to sign him this summer.
Bournemouth are expected to sell him for a fee of around £40m in the upcoming transfer window.
