Liverpool are in the market for centre-backs and are expected to bring in defensive reinforcements in the upcoming transfer windows.
Virgil van Dijk is close to agreeing on a new contract with Liverpool and is almost certain to be at Anfield beyond the end of the ongoing season.
However, Liverpool are still looking to sign central defenders as the club want to have a readymade replacement for Van Dijk while the club captain is still on Merseyside.
The Reds have been linked with a January move for Sevilla centre-back Loic Bade who is said to be closing in on a deal to join the Merseyside giants this winter.
But Liverpool are expected to carry out all the heavy lifting in the summer and the real big money on centre-backs will be spent at the end of the season.

Liverpool have been carrying out heavy scouting work on Nottingham Forest defender Murillo with a view to potentially signing him next summer.
The Reds have been left impressed with the Brazilian and he is now one of the primary names on Liverpool’s centre-back shortlist.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are also interested but Liverpool would back themselves to sign the Forest defender in summer.
According to Football Insider, Forest are almost resigned to losing Murillo in the near future and believe his transfer is ‘inevitable’.

Murillo has been left flattered by interest from the big wigs of the Premier League and European football and is keen to play at the highest level in the Champions League.
Liverpool have been told that Forest would be ready to accept offers of more than £70m in the next summer transfer window.
Murillo would be an expensive option but his Premier League experience and age profile make him an attractive top target for Liverpool as they seek to bring in the long-term successor to Van Dijk.
