Newcastle are aware of the fact that getting Isak out of Newcastle would be complicated, and they don’t want to have a situation where they fail to sign a striker if the Swede doesn’t arrive.

Several strikers are being looked at, and according to Football Insider, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins has emerged as a target for the Reds in the summer.

Watkins has scored 15 times and registered 12 assists this season for Aston Villa, and has been their top marksman under Unai Emery.

However, the door could be open for him to leave if Villa sign Marcus Rashford on a permanent deal from Manchester United in the summer.

Villa could also be forced to sell a couple of high-value players in the next window to remain within their PSR limits, given the fact that they are likely to miss out on qualifying for the Champions League.
