Mohamed Salah was on the bench in the match against Eintracht Frankfurt as Liverpool saw victory after four games. The UEFA Champions League night was an important one for Arne Slot’s men as the players gained back their confidence in a 5-1 thrashing.
Red left-back Andy Robertson put it into perspective as the Scotsman talked about the changed mood of the players when Liverpool went 3-1 up in Germany.
“Thankfully, we did that, and then when we go 3-1 up, you see lads starting to enjoy themselves and that’s what you want — people playing with a smile on their face and people enjoying playing for this club, scoring goals, assisting goals.”
Club legend Salah, on the other hand, doesn’t seem very happy following his exclusion from the clash in Central Europe. Now, reports coming in suggest the Reds have decided on the Egyptian’s future at the club.
Mohamed Salah transfer update

Despite the winger’s contract running for only a season and a half more, Liverpool have handed the decision of a transfer to the man himself.
At the club level, the officials aren’t willing to sell Salah in the upcoming transfer windows, reports Football Insider. The winger isn’t having the best of seasons as the Egyptian only has four goal involvements in the 25/26 English Premier League.
This isn’t bad, but off the mark by the North African’s own standards. He’s also only produced two contributions in the UEFA Champions League in three games.
Nevertheless, if the Reds don’t sell Salah in the summer, the Egyptian will probably leave on a free as his contract expires at the end of the 2026/27 season.

Liverpool eye Salah’s replacement
Slot is already searching for replacements. Antoine Semenyo has been on the Reds’ radar for a long time, and an early move in January might take place.
The Ghanaian international has already scored six goals and assisted thrice in just eight games for the Cherries. Semenyo is overperforming as the winger’s xG stands at 3.8 and npXG at 3.
His assists follow a similar trend as the 25-year-old’s xAG stands at 0.5. However, Semenyo signed a new deal this summer with Bournemouth, tying him down to Dean Court till 2030.
This is a big problem, but Liverpool are willing to take a turnaround by activating the release clause in his contract. The exact amount of the clause isn’t public, but recent summer suggests that the club won’t shy away when it comes to money.
