The Reds have officially announced the signing of Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak. With the saga being a tough one, the striker seems happy to be at Anfield, as he expressed the same in the press conference.
“I feel amazing. It’s been a long journey to get here. But I’m super-happy to be a part of this team, this club and everything it stands for. It’s something I’m proud of and I’m really looking forward to it.”
“I’m just happy it’s done and that I can get back to work. I’m looking forward to seeing my team-mates and the fans, and getting back out there.”
“I think I have a lot to give, I think I have a lot to improve. I’m a striker but I always want to give as much as possible to the team, mainly goals but much more than that as well.”
“I want to win everything”, via The Athletic.
Liverpool broke the British record fee to sign the hitman from Tyneside as the club faced a lot of resistance from St. James Park.
A £125m price tag will bring its own expectations as the Swede continues his rapid rise in European football.

While Isak got his happy ending, his Crystal Palace counterpart couldn’t have the same. Marc Guéhi was very much anticipated at Anfield, but The Eagles failed to find a replacement for the English defender.
This led to a last-minute rejection of the Liverpool offer, even after the English international having completed medicals in Merseyside.
Slot will continue the season with elite firepower up front, but the cracks in the back remain unfilled with only three experienced centre-backs to deploy.
Isak will fit in perfectly with Ekitike, being another option for the hitman job upfront. The creative side is powered by Salah, Witz, Chiesa and Gakpo, providing for the striker up front.
However, only Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté and Joe Gomez fill two roles in the back. As previously discussed, Gomez is a decent defender, but injuries have been a major problem throughout his career.
A new centre-back would have levelled the playing field, but it looks like The Reds will have to do without. Liverpool witnessed another notable change as they saw the departure of Harvey Elliott to Aston Villa, with the Birmingham-based outfit having the obligation to buy at the end of the season.
