Liverpool monitor teenage Championship prodigy

Liverpool are always on the lookout for young talents and remain committed to the idea of adding talented young players to their squad who are ready to play in the first team.

The Merseyside giants have huge plans for the upcoming transfer windows and are prepared to spend big money to add players to Arne Slot’s squad.

Liverpool are pushing to make sure that they recruit young talents who are ready for the first team and the club’s recruitment team are keeping tabs on several players.

The Reds are looking to bring in midfield reinforcements in both the January and summer transfer windows and the club are working towards identifying the top targets.

Liverpool are also looking at the Championship for players and Sunderland’s 17-year-old midfielder Chris Rigg has been linked with almost every major club in the Premier League.

The club are monitoring the teenager but…….

The 17-year-old is considered the best young midfield talent in the Championship since Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham was plying his trade at Birmingham City.

Manchester United are interested in signing him and there are suggestions that scouts from the Red Devils have watched him in almost every game this season.

However, competition for his signature is likely to be as severe as many other clubs in the Premier League and Europe are keeping tabs on him.

According to CaughtOffSide, Liverpool are amongst the clubs who are monitoring his progress with a view to potentially signing him.

The Merseyside giants are keeping an eye out on him but it is unclear whether they have taken any step towards signing him.

Arsenal, Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Brighton, Manchester City, Newcastle and Wolves are also monitoring his development.

Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund have also been interested in getting their hands on Sunderland’s Rigg.

The Black Cats do not want to lose him in the winter window as they are pushing for promotion to the Premier League this season.

However, Sunderland are aware that he will leave in 2025 and want a fee of €30m before agreeing to sell him.
