Liverpool midfielder Gini Wijnaldum has been given his final contract offer as his current deal winds down.
That is according to a source close to Anfield Central, who states the Dutchman is wanting his £90k a week wages doubled. Not only that, but Wijnaldum also wants the contract to run for four years.
The club wants to keep Wijnaldum at the club as he has played a crucial role in what Liverpool have achieved under Klopp. However, the stumbling block is the demand of £180k a week wages.

That wage increase would see Gini earn more than captain Jordan Henderson, Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Sadio Mane. The club fears that this would cause a chain of contract renewals with multiple players.
With the financial strains on clubs from COVID-19, Liverpool are not looking to negotiate multiple renewals right now.
These demands from Gini Wijnaldum do come at a time where the club is under pressure.
With the January window opening in exactly two weeks, the Dutchman will be able to talk to clubs around Europe.

These talks will be to agree on a pre-contract meaning that Wijnaldum will move for free when his contract expires. The benefit around agreeing a deal in January usually means the player gets a substantial signing-on bonus.
