As Liverpool look to get back to form in the Premier League and Champions League, let’s look at the club’s loanees:
Takumi Minamino – Southampton
Minamino made his 2nd straight Premier League start for the Saints in a 2-1 defeat to Wolves. The Japanese international was lively in the first half, finding pockets of space in Ralph Hassenhuttl’s free-flowing system. However, he faded after the break and was subbed midway through the second half. Definitely an encouraging start on the south coast so far for Minamino!
Harvey Elliott – Blackburn
The star of the pack this season, Elliott was given a rest in a Championship match against Preston. The 17-year-old came off in the final portion of the game but was unable to prevent his side from succumbing to defeat.

Nonetheless, Elliott has been brilliant so far this season, with his eight assists falling just one assist short of the league lead.
Harry Wilson – Cardiff City
Wilson played the full 90 minutes for Cardiff in a 2-0 win against Luton Town. The Welsh midfielder scored the opening goal in the second half, allowing Cardiff to rise to 7th in the Championship table. Wilson has been good this season, but it still feels like he’s capable of elevating his play to another level.
Marko Grujic – Porto
Grujic came on for Porton in the second half of their league match against Boavista, helping his side come back to earn a draw after trailing 2-0. Grujic has struggled to earn a consistent presence in the side, as the Serbian hasn’t started a league game since November. Perhaps this will be a step in the right direction.

Taiwo Awoniyi – Union Berlin
Staying with Union Berlin, we switch to Awoniyi who has enjoyed quite a fruitful loan spell. Awoniyi started the game against Schalke in attack, but failed to add to his 5 league goals. The Nigerian was subbed off with a few minutes to go, but has established himself as a regular for the 9th placed side.
Loris Karius – Union Berlin
Karius finally made his first Bundesliga start for Union Berlin in a 0-0 draw against basement dwellers Schalke. The German will be encouraged by the clean sheet, albeit he wasn’t forced to make a save in the game. However, just seeing the pitch has to be considered a positive at this point.

Kamil Grabara – AGF Aarhus
Similar to his goalkeeping counterpart Karius, Kamil Grabara also kept a clean sheet for Danish side AGF Aarhus against OB. Unlike Karius, Grabara has fared much better in his time away from Merseyside.
Sepp van den Berg – Preston
Van der Berg was an unused sub for Preston on the weekend. The Dutch defender will look forward to making his first appearance in the Championship in the near future.
Liam Millar – Charlton Athletic
Millar continued his promising start to life in League One with an assist in a 3-2 loss against Gillingham. Similar to Minamino, Millar has quickly settled in to his new environment and will look to build on a promising start.
Adam Lewis – Plymouth Argyle
Lewis made an 18-minute substitute cameo in a 1-0 win against Fleetwood Town.
Anderson Arroyo – Salamanca
Arroyo played another 90 minutes in a league match against Pontevedra.
Sheyi Ojo – Cardiff City
Ojo was an unused sub for Cardiff City in the 2-0 victory against Luton Town.
