Mohamed Salah has possibly turned into one of the best wingers of his generation at Anfield. Liverpool is where the Egyptain found his footing and became the most dangerous goal-scoring threat in the Premier League.
The winger currently places ninth alongside ex-Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe in Premier League’s all-time goalscorers. With 162 goals in the English top flight, Salah will be looking forward to breaking into the top seven now.
The 32-year-old winger is just 13 goals behind Arsenal icon Thierry Henry and 15 to Chelsea legend Frank Lampard. Salah can possibly end up seventh or higher by the end of the season if he continues his current form in the Premier League.
However, the Egyptian’s continuity in the English top flight is under wraps as there have been no talks of extension yet. Mohamed Salah’s contract expires at the end of this season and he’ll be free to negotiate with any clubs outside England starting January.
This has been one of the biggest fan concerns this season with other key players also facing similar dilemmas. Back in September, the African footballer revealed that no one from the club had uttered a single word regarding the situation.
Nobody in the club talked to me yet about contracts so I was just like, ‘OK, I play my last season and see at the end of the season’. I feel I am free to play football – we will see what happens next year.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Mohamed Salah might stay to break records
He’ll have an eye on Thierry Henry and Frank Lampard by the end of this season, I would imagine. I think stats like this are one of the biggest reasons why Mo Salah will sign a new contract at Liverpool.

The footballer-turned-pundit thinks Salah’s biggest reason to stay will be to break records at Anfield. He feels records are one of the biggest motivators of the winger’s life.
Of course they’ll be talking about money and length of contract, but I think these are the things [records] that really get the juices flowing for Mo Salah.

With Salah potentially surpassing Theirry Henry and Frank Lampard, the Egyptian might stay till he reins as supreme leader of the Premier League if his age allows.
On the other hand, Salah is not the only player whose contract expires at the end of the season. Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also have their contracts expiring in the summer of 2025 with the latter having immense interest coming in from Spain.
