Real Madrid have been Liverpool’s nemesis on and off the pitch in recent years. The Reds have lost two Champions League finals to the Spanish giants, and are set to lose Trent Alexander-Arnold to them on a free transfer. However, more transfer pain is on the cards for the recently crowned Premier League champions.
Liverpool have been left frustrated by the way Real Madrid tapped up Alexander-Arnold over the last year and ultimately convinced him to leave his boyhood club for the glitz and glamour of the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real Madrid are also keen to sign Alexis Mac Allister from the Merseyside giants, and are expected to table a big-money bid for him in the summer window.
However, more pain could be on the cards for the Reds as one of their top targets now has his eyes set on a move to the Santiago Bernabeu over other clubs.

Liverpool set to lose out on top target to Real Madrid

Hugo Ekitike has emerged as one of the top targets for Liverpool, who are in the market for a top striker in the upcoming summer transfer window.
Eintracht Frankfurt are prepared to sell him but have set a steep asking price of £85m for the Frenchman, who is seen as one of the best young strikers in world football.
Liverpool have been plotting to move for him, but it has emerged that the forward wants to join Real Madrid over other clubs.
Journalist Christian Falk has revealed that Eintracht believe that the striker would stay if the Spanish giants do not try to sign him this summer.
“Frankfurt bosses already assume that he’ll be leaving in the summer. That said, there is hope with the club only one win away from qualifying for Champions League football in 2025/26. With €50m [£42.4m], Frankfurt can budget for the future season, and it would be possible, though challenging, for Ekitike to stay”, Falk told CaughtOffSide.
“The price tag is €100m [£84.9m]. Internal talk at Frankfurt is that the striker should stay put until he receives an offer from Real Madrid.
“If Frankfurt do make it into the Champions League, the player would only be interested in clubs that also play in the competition.”
