Liverpool have sent shockwaves across Europe with their market moves, and are pushing hard to ensure their squad reach the next level next season. However, Arsenal intend to catch up with the Reds, and are keen to scupper their chance of landing a superstar forward this summer.
The Merseyside giants have not rested on their laurels after winning the Premier League, and have moved swiftly in the market to strengthen the squad.
Liverpool are close to finalising a record-breaking deal to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen, and are expected to announce Jeremie Frimpong’s arrival once the window opens on Sunday.
The Reds are still in the market for a top striker, but it seems Arsenal are keen to steal a top target from under Liverpool’s nose in the upcoming transfer window.

Julian Alvarez has been heavily linked with a move back to England just a year after he left Manchester City for Atletico Madrid in a deal worth £80m.
Liverpool have their eyes on the striker and are considering making a move to take him to Anfield in the upcoming transfer window.
However, according to Marca via Sport Witness, Arsenal have barged into the race to sign Alvarez from Atletico Madrid ahead of the new season.
The Gunners need a forward, and the club are pushing to convince the Argentinian to move back to the Premier League with them this summer.
New Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta signed Alvarez for Atletico Madrid last year, and is leading the effort to take him back to England in the upcoming window.
Atletico Madrid want to build their team around the forward and do not want to sell him this summer.
However, an offer worth £100m would be too hard to turn down from the Spanish giants despite Alvarez’s importance to the team.
