Liverpool are in talks to sign £16m ‘passing master’ on loan as they look to plug their midfield with an addition on deadline day.
The Reds have been linked with midfielders all summer and fans have demanded a new signing to help cope with their current midfield injury crisis.
Captain Jordan Henderson also limped off with a suspected hamstring injury last night, with Thiago, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all currently sidelined.
This is why the Reds have moved for Juventus’ Arthur Melo, with the club currently attempting to negotiate a loan deal to bolster their midfield.

Latest reports on Arthur
We know Liverpool needed a midfielder and, according to Fabrizio Romano, they are in line to sign the former Barcelona midfielder Arthur on a loan deal.
There’s been a full agreement on salary and work now in progress for medical later today in England, with the Brazilian in line to fly over this morning, following a late call from the Reds last night.
There is no option to buy given Liverpool are simply looking to plug a hole in their midfield as up to four central midfielders will return from injury over the course of the next month or two.
A short-term deal works best for all parties and extra solidity in midfield should give Liverpool reinforcements to battle through what has been a tough start to the season in terms of results and injuries suffered.

Is Arthur a good fit?
The former Barcelona, Juventus and Brazilian international has certainly been involved in big club’s and in big occasions for club and country and he possesses experience at the top level.
Only 26, Juventus forked out £68m for his services in 2020 and has featured 63 times for the club. Although his injury record is littered with small injuries and knocks at regular intervals which may be a worry coming in.
He also hasn’t featured since playing 37 minutes in the Coppa Italia final back in May, but the deep-lying defensive midfielder has an excellent passing range which sees him in the 93rd percentile for passes attempted and 97th for pass completion.
He can help to replicate Thiago’s vision and passing range when he’s absent from the side and bring pedigree and quality that can help Liverpool cope in the short-term this season.
