Liverpool in pole position to sign ‘Serbian Messi’

Liverpool are plotting ahead as they prepare plans for the upcoming transfer windows with sporting director Richard Hughes setting things up behind the scenes to take on every emerging market opportunity.

The Reds are sitting at the summit of the Premier League table but the club’s recruitment team are working hard behind the scenes to make sure that they are more aggressive in the market, unlike last summer.

Liverpool are keen to bring in a midfielder in January and are working on ideas to bring in centre-backs, wide forwards and strikers in the next summer transfer window.

The Merseyside giants are also want to be ready to swoop up the best emerging young talents and they have their eyes on someone who has been termed the Serbian Messi.

Liverpool push forward to sign 17-year-old midfielder

Andrija Maksimovic has been earning rave reviews for his performances at Red Star Belgrade and has already played in the Champions League.

He also became the youngest player to earn a national team cap for Serbia and some of the biggest clubs in Europe are falling over themselves to sign him next summer.

Liverpool have been keeping tabs on him for a while along with Manchester City, Tottenham and several other Premier League clubs.

Borussia Dortmund have also been keen on him but Liverpool have the edge over the German giants in the race to sign the teenager.

Liverpool have been keeping an eye on his performances since the turn of the year and according to TBR Football, they fancy their chances of taking the attacking midfielder to Anfield.

The Reds are pushing to secure a deal and are prepared to make sure that they remain ahead in the chase given the number of clubs that want to sign him.

They would have to wait until next summer to sign but the Merseyside giants are laying down the groundwork for a swoop.

The competition for Maksimovic’s signing is going to be steep as a large set of teams are interested in him.

The attacking midfielder has vowed scouts across Europe apart from a host of observers from several Premier League teams.

We have already mentioned Borussia Dortmund but clubs such as Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig, Marseille and Juventus are also interested in snapping up the youngster.
