Liverpool are set to focus on a few player sales in the coming weeks, and Serie A clubs are expected to emerge as prime suitors for some of their stars. However, a top Italian club are now plotting to sign a top player from Anfield for a considerable sum of money.

Liverpool star Darwin Nunez is a huge target for Serie A giants

Darwin Nunez will leave Liverpool before the transfer window slams shut, and the club would prefer to sell him to a club in Saudi Arabia to maximise their profits.

The forward has not closed the door on the Saudi Pro League, but would prefer to continue playing at the top level of European football at this stage of his career.

Napoli boss Antonio Conte is a fan, and he is one of the names on the shortlist of the Serie A champions as they continue to assess their forward options.

According to Football Italia, the Serie A giants are in contact with Nunez and his representative to discuss a potential deal.

It would have to be a big money move as Liverpool want somewhere around £59m before agreeing to sell the striker in the ongoing transfer window.
