Liverpool do not want to stand still after winning the Premier League, and work is underway behind the scenes to ensure Arne Slot has a better squad at his disposal next season. The Merseyside giants are now leading the race to sign one of the best young midfielders in European football.
Slot was new in the Premier League next season, and didn’t really have the cache to make demands last summer at Anfield despite the club failing to give him the midfielder he wanted.
However, after winning the Premier League this season, the Dutchman has more power to direct the club’s transfer dealings, and he wants the elite midfield signing that he was denied last year.
Liverpool have been looking at several young midfielders, including one top Premier League talent, but they now have an opportunity to land the ‘next Toni Kroos’.

Liverpool lay their eyes on the top European midfielder

Liverpool want an elite midfielder this summer as Slot felt that he couldn’t really rotate his options this season because of a lack of depth in that area of the squad.
According to Fichajes, the Merseyside giants have set their eyes on Vfb Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller ahead of the next transfer window.
The 24-year-old German midfielder, who has been compared with former Real Madrid star Kroos, has been in fine form this season and is considered the next big midfield talent.
Liverpool believe Stiller fits perfectly into the possession-based pressing style that Slot prefers, and are now pushing to take him to Anfield this summer.
Manchester City and Real Madrid are also interested, but Liverpool have emerged as the top contenders to sign Stiller in the upcoming window.
Stiller has a contract until 2028 at Stuttgart, and the German club want a big fee of around £52m before agreeing to sell him.
