Liverpool agree six-figure deal for teenage sensation

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are set to sign Blackpool’s 16-year-old winger Gabriel Schluter in the ongoing transfer window.
Negotiations are at an advanced stage, and a broad deal is in place between the two clubs for the teenager to move to Merseyside this summer.
Liverpool have agreed to pay a six-figure fee to Blackpool to secure a deal to sign the young winger ahead of the new season.
Schluter had a terrific season for the Blackpool youth teams last season and made his senior debut for the club against the Liverpool Under-21s in the EFL Trophy.
The winger is scheduled to travel to Merseyside next week to undergo a medical and finalise the formalities of the transfer.
Blackpool boss Steve Bruce admitted after the youngster’s debut that he would not be surprised if he ends up at a Premier League club soon.
Richard Hughes has an eye for the future
Liverpool have had a good habit of snapping up young talents in recent years, with players such as Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliott, Conor Bradley, Caoimhin Kelleher and Jarell Quansah going on to play for the senior side.
While not all young players will make it at Liverpool, the imminent sale of Quansah and the likely departure of Harvey Elliott show that the club could make huge money from their development.
Schluter would hope that he goes on to make a career at Liverpool after joining the club, but for now, he will link up with the Under-18s and the Under-21s.
The young winger will be joining an academy burgeoning with young talent, and will have to work hard to progress on Merseyside.
However, if he goes on to make an impression, he can either develop as a star at Anfield or end up making decent money for Liverpool through a transfer.
In the age of PSR, developing and selling young talents for good money has become an important driving factor for clubs in the Premier League.
