Liverpool are plotting to bring in a new striker next summer as the club push to add more goals to their forward line at the end of the season.
Darwin Nunez has so far failed to convince that he could turn into the reliable goalscorer that Liverpool thought they were buying when they signed him in 2022.
Digo Jota has been preferred over him this season and the Nunez is only getting an extended run in the starting eleven because the Portuguese is out with an injury.
Liverpool are in the market for a striker and have been heavily linked with a move for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres who is also wanted at Manchester United and Al Nassr.
A move for the Swede is likely to be expensive and Liverpool are believed to be looking at Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush as the more viable option next summer.
The club have already spoken to his agents
Marmoush has been banging in the goals for Eintracht this season since rejecting an option to move to the Premier League last summer when Fulham and Nottingham Forest were interested in him.
The Egyptian, who has been tipped to become better than Mohamed Salah, has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.
The forward is said to be dreaming of succeeding Salah on Merseyside and according to SportBild, Liverpool have already discussed a potential move with his agents.
The Reds have spoken with his representatives intending to potentially sign him at the end of the season.
Can you name the team Liverpool sold these players to?
It is likely to take between €40m to €50m to get him out of Eintracht Frankfurt next summer.
However, the Reds are set to face serious competition from German giants Bayern Munich who want to add one more striker to their squad.
The Bavarians were impressed by his performances in their 3-3 draw against Eintracht and are keeping a close eye on his performances.
It has been claimed that it is likely to come down between Liverpool and Bayern Munich in the race to sign the forward at the end of the season.
Marmoush has netted 12 goals and registered nine assists in 14 appearances across all competitions this season.
