Liverpool handed Mo Salah contract boost

Mohamed Salah has yet to sign a new contract with Liverpool and negotiations with the club have dragged on for months with still no agreement in place between the two sides.

Salah has been an icon at Liverpool and his performances have powered the Reds to Premier League and Champions League trophies in the last decade.

However, the Merseyside giants are not aware whether the winger will be at Liverpool next summer as his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Salah was left furious by the new contract offer he received from Liverpool and has been exploring other options with clubs such as Barcelona interested in snapping him up on a free transfer.

He also has suitors in the Saudi Pro League where Al Hilal are keen to get their hands on the player but it seems the forward has a certain plan in his head.

Mohamed Salah has a certain priority

It emerged earlier this week that Salah would like to stay at Liverpool and wants the club to offer him a new contract.

According to Masrawy, there is no negotiation between Salah and any Saudi Pro League club at this stage.

It has been claimed that the forward has kept the door closed on a potential move to Saudi Arabia in the next summer transfer window.

His priority is to stay at Liverpool and his representatives are working towards sorting out an agreement over a new deal with the Reds.

Even if he doesn’t sign a new contract, the winger is unlikely to consider a move to Saudi Arabia at the end of the season.

Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing him and he would consider a move to the French capital over a transfer to one of the Saudi Pro League teams.

It seems Salah remains committed to staying at Liverpool and is waiting for the club to make the right offer to him.

This should come as a boost for Liverpool fans who have been wary of losing their talismanic attacker on a free transfer next summer.

The onus is now on the club to make the kind of offer that makes Salah feel valued at Anfield in the coming years.
