It has been a tough season for Liverpool with injuries but the club finally has some good news.

It has been well documented that the club’s season has been derailed due to their injury history this year. The club has seen its title bid slowly unravel as the Reds hoped to retain their title.

But now the club has given fans some optimism that this season can still be a success. With last summer’s signing Diogo Jota back in first-team training since suffering a knee injury against FC Midtjylland.

We were first to report Jota’s injury return last week thanks to a source close to Anfield Central.

The Portuguese international has missed 18 games since the 1-1 draw to the Danish side in the Champions League group stage. The 24-year old has impressed fans before the injury with how quickly he adapted to Jurgen Klopp’s style of play.

With an impressive return of nine goals in all competitions, including a hattrick in the Champions League, Jota has been a huge miss to this team. However, there is no news of when he would be included in a matchday squad, fans will hope it is sooner rather than later.

Arguably, the bigger news of the day sees Virgil van Dijk return to the outdoor pitches at the AXA Training Centre in Kirby.

Again this was reported to you last week thanks to a source close to us here at Anfield Central.

The Dutchman has been out since a horror tackle in the Merseyside Derby by England’s number one Jordan Pickford. That tackle led to Van Dijk suffering a protentional season-ending ACL injury.

Van Dijk had been stepping up his recovery in Dubai but now fans have been given a glimpse of the defender back in Liverpool. Manager Jurgen Klopp has reiterated that he does not know if he will feature again this season.

However, to see him back on the training pitch will give fans optimism for the remainder of the season.
