Liverpool have made an ambitious move for Florian Wirtz, who seemed certain to join Bayern Munich a few weeks back. The Merseyside giants are closing in on a deal, and the attacking midfielder is now almost certain to move to Anfield in the coming weeks.
Florian Wirtz has emerged as a shock and ambitious target for Liverpool, and no one really believed that the Reds would go for him because of the cost involved.
Bayer Leverkusen want £126m from his sale, and coupled with his wages, the cost involved is astronomical, and even Manchester City backed out of it.
However, FSG have sanctioned Liverpool’s expensive pursuit of the attacking midfielder, and it seems the player is now almost certain to join the Merseyside giants in the coming weeks.

The Florian Wirtz deal is more or less done

Bayern Munich have internally accepted that their pursuit of the attacking midfielder is going to end in tears in the summer transfer window.
According to Bayern Space, Wirtz wants his move to Liverpool sorted out before he joins the Germany team for the Nations League early next month.
It has been claimed that the deal is so advanced between the two clubs, Liverpool have already started planning a medical for the German midfielder.
Liverpool are confident that Wirtz wants to join them, and the club are almost certain that a deal will get done in the upcoming transfer window.
With the midfielder pushing for the move, Liverpool’s record-breaking deal could be done in the next couple of weeks.
Wirtz at least wants an agreement in place between Liverpool and Leverkusen before the Nations League games. He doesn’t want any drama while he is on international duty.
Liverpool are now on the verge of pulling off the biggest signing in their history.
