Liverpool eyeing move for generational prospect

Liverpool are preparing for the January transfer window as the club are under pressure to back Arne Slot after he turned them into Premier League title contenders this season.

The Merseyside giants have been linked with an interest in several players with fans convinced that the club need to bring in a new defensive midfielder in January.

Richard Hughes and his recruitment team are assessing players ahead of the winter window the club are not expecting to be too busy in terms of incoming business.

Arne Slot is happy with the options in his squad and Liverpool do not believe that they are in desperate need of additions in the middle of the season.

However, the club will remain alive to any market opportunities or the possibility of getting their hands on a long-term target if they become available in the winter window.

One such player could be on the move in January and Liverpool have their eyes on him.

Club expecting January bids for the Reds target

Motherwell’s 18-year-old midfielder Lennon Miller has set tongues wagging with his performances in the Scottish top flight this season.

He is considered a generational talent in Scotland and Celtic and Rangers are already setting out stalls to take him to Glasgow in the near future.

Miller is also attracting interest from south of the border as according to Football Scotland, Liverpool have their eyes on the young midfielder.

He has been watched by the Liverpool scouts and the club are interested in taking him to Anfield.

For the moment, the midfielder has no plans to leave Motherwell and wants to continue his development at the Scottish club.

However, Motherwell are expecting bids for him in the winter window and, given their financial reality, at a certain price they will sell.

The Scottish club are unlikely to resist selling him if they receive offers in the region of £4m for Miller in the winter window.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool back up their interest in the teenage midfield with a concrete bid for him in January.
