Liverpool drop transfer bombshell with shock U-turn on superstar

Liverpool have been crowned Premier League champions with three games to spare, but work is already underway to bolster Arne Slot’s squad. Richard Hughes is setting up deals for the summer, but a major U-turn has been made on the possibility of a superstar addition.

Slot wants major additions to his squad over the summer transfer window as he looks to build on winning the Premier League in his first season as Liverpool manager.

The Reds have a big budget for the next window, and the club are prepared to fund the arrival of as many as five new signings in the coming months.

Liverpool have been looking at several players ahead of the summer window, but it seems a major U-turn has been performed on a potential superstar signing.

Can you name the team Liverpool signed these players from?

The Reds perform a U-turn on a Premier League superstar

Kevin De Bruyne has already announced that he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season after spending ten glorious years at the Etihad.

He has offers from Saudi Arabia, the United States, and Italy, and he has not ruled out playing for another Premier League next season.

Liverpool have placed an offer on his table as well ahead of the next summer transfer window, but he will not be arriving at Anfield.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Liverpool are looking at other options and are no longer interested in signing the Manchester City captain.

Liverpool have other younger alternatives and do not want to commit huge wages to a player who is 34 and has struggled with injuries in the last season or so.

A move to the Reds would have been a major shock, but it seems the fantasy of watching one of the Premier League greats wearing the Liverpool shirt will remain unfulfilled.
