Liverpool could complete blockbuster signing soon “amid new talks” but Reds must make one demand

Jude Bellingham

A report claims that Liverpool could agree a deal to sign Jude Bellingham in the next few weeks.

The 19-year-old is Jurgen Klopp’s dream midfield signing and it’s clear to see why.

Since making his debut for Birmingham City in 2019, the Englishman has gone from strength to strength and made a very smart move by joining Borussia Dortmund and furthering his development.

He could have joined Manchester United and it would be a lovely turn of events if he wound up as a Liverpool player.

Now, he is at a major crossroads in his career and is ready to take the step up to one of the biggest clubs in Europe.

Liverpool could be that club as a report from Football Insider claims the Reds could reach an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to sign Bellingham within the next few weeks.

Jude Bellingham

The report states that talks were to be held this week over a potential move to Anfield in 2023.

The likelihood is that – if a deal is agreed – he would only join Liverpool next summer while Football Insider reports he could join the club as early as January.

If that’s the case, Klopp will have his midfield signing but sporting director Julian Ward must demand that he arrives this summer.

Dortmund have a very strict one-per-summer approach to selling their best players and that’s where Liverpool have run into a brick wall.

Yet, if they want Bellingham badly enough, paying over the odds to convince Dortmund to sell him this month is worth it if Klopp believes the midfielder is someone who can take Liverpool to the Premier League title.

The unfortunate reality is that Liverpool’s midfield is not filled with the quality that the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid can call on.

To make matters worse, Klopp’s options are littered with injury-prone players and no matter how talented you are, you can’t outplay unfortunate genetics and bad luck.

Signing Bellingham would not only solve Liverpool’s mini-midfield crisis but it would also take their squad to a whole new level.
