Milos Kerkez has been Liverpool’s top left-back target for months, and the club have been working to sign him from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window.

Richard Hughes’ prior relationship with the Cherries is expected to help the Reds get a deal done to take the left-back to Anfield in the next window.

According to Football Transfers, Manchester City are also interested in getting their hands on Kerkez to solve their own left-back woes next season.

However, Manchester City do not want to get into a bidding war with Liverpool for the defender in the upcoming transfer window.

They have held initial talks with his representatives, but have been left unimpressed with what they heard from the player’s camp.

Liverpool remain the favourites to sign him, with Manchester City now expected to pursue other options in the market for a left-back.
