Anfield Central has been told that Liverpool have the option to extend Andy Robertson’s contract by an extra year, extending his terms until 2025.
The Scotland international spoke this week about how he wishes to retire at Liverpool and even though his contract isn’t an urgent matter for the Reds, we have been told that they have the option to extend by an extra year which they will do at some point.
Robertson is currently contracted until 2024 and an extra year would keep him at the club until he’s 30.
The former Hull City star is one of the best fullbacks Liverpool have had for a long time and while his levels have dipped somewhat this season, he remains a hugely important member of Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.

He said this week: “I get asked the question a lot. Look, my aim is to finish at Liverpool, and I’d love to finish at Liverpool, but I know tough it is to keep playing at the highest level.
“Time will come to make that decision. Right now I’ve still got a good length on my contract, I want to stay here forever and I hope to retire here, but you know if I keep going and I feel fit and I feel healthy, but when you get into your 30s things change, but I’d love to retire at this club.”
As stated before, Liverpool are in no rush to extend Robertson’s terms but they can do so at any point and with the left-back clearly keen on staying at the club for the rest of his career, it seems likely to happen down the line.
