Liverpool are close to agreeing a deal that would see centre-back Ben Davies leave on loan this summer.
Davies, 26, signed for Liverpool during their centre-back injury crisis in January 2021 in a season which saw Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk out injured for the majority of the season.
In one of the strangest signings in Liverpool history, Davies has failed to make a senior first team appearance since then.
It’s been reported that Blackburn Rovers are leading the charge to take the former Preston player on loan for the upcoming season.

According to a report from Alan Nixon on his Patreon, Blackburn Rovers are pushing incredibly hard to bring Liverpool defender Ben Davies in on loan.
The centre back has been left out of Liverpool’s pre-season tour – a sign that points towards his inevitable departure.
He spent last season on loan at Sheffield United where he featured 21 times.
Davies could return to the Championship, with Blackburn willing to pay his wages as well as an additional loan fee in order to bring him to Ewood Park this season.
Caoimhin Kelleher, Ben Davies, Kaide Gordon and Calvin Ramsay have not travelled with Liverpool’s squad to Thailand.

His move could free up around £3m for Liverpool with his wages removed and free up place in a somewhat over-crowded squad.
However, it could be somewhat of a controversial move given Davies’ ties to Preston from his history in the Championship.
Unwanted at Liverpool, he is at the bottom of the centre back pecking order and a move away will surely satisfy all parties.
Davies has come through the levels of the football league, from playing nine times in the National League for Southport to 150 times for Preston and Sheffield United in the Championship.
