Liverpool are trying to sign Fabio Carvalho after adding Colombian forward Luis Diaz to their ranks, reports Sky Sports’ Vinny O’Connor.

The Reds could leverage the money owed to them for Harry Wilson by accelerating their interest in Carvalho, highlighting just how incredibly well-run Liverpool’s transfers are.

On Saturday, Dean Jones told Give Me Sport that he had heard “whispers” that Liverpool were looking might look to bring forward a deal to sign Carvalho this month and it seems that’s exactly what’s happening.

“I’m starting to hear whispers that Liverpool might push forward their interest in Fabio Carvalho to this window,” Jones told GiveMeSport.

“Their interest has definitely turned his head.”

Signing Carvalho and Diaz would be an incredibly ambitious way to cap off the January transfer window especially when it looked as though Liverpool had no plans to make any signings at all.

The 19-year-old has 7 goals and 4 assists this season and is a very entertaining player to watch.

He enjoys carrying the ball, driving at defenders at speed. His arrival at Anfield would give the Reds even more potency when counter-attacking.

Fulham will want to avoid a tribunal in the summer where they will have no say in how much they are paid for Carvalho’s development but if they can reach an agreement now with Liverpool, they could receive a higher fee.

After Liverpool signed Diaz, it would be incredible if they also added Carvalho. While fans don’t only want transfer news, it’s been an exciting few days and very enjoyable to follow and report on.

For those of you who don’t know much about Carvalho, he’s going to be a very good player even if it’s difficult to gauge just how good.

His style of play is what excites me the most though. He’s got a very elusive dribbling style and has the end product to match as well as the intensity and pressing that Jurgen Klopp loves.
