Liverpool want to sign €20million attacker – he could follow in Mane and Keita’s footsteps en route to Anfield

Adeyemi

Liverpool are reportedly in a three-club battle to sign RB Salzburg talent Karim Adeyemi, who is valued at €20million, according to Bild.

The German outlet claims that after moving to Salzburg for €3m, his market value is now €20m and Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich are all interested in the forward.

His contract only expires in 2024 but RBS have never prevented their players from leaving if they agreed it was a good next step for the player so if Liverpool come knocking and are willing to meet the Austrians’ asking price, they’ll get their man.

The 19-year-old is a hugely exciting player and one quick glance at YouTube will tell you pretty much everything you need to know about his entertaining style of play and why Liverpool are interested in signing him.

He’s lightning-quick, he’s got superb link-up play, he can drag defenders out of position and is more than capable of beating them with a piece of skill on the ball but he also has the end product to match.

Last season, Adeyemi scored 9 goals and assisted 11, playing alongside the prolific Patson Daka and this season, he seems to have shouldered the goalscoring responsibility and has scored 7 goals in 9 games for RB Salzburg.

It must be said that the Austrian Bundesliga is nowhere near the level of the Premier League and obviously not everyone can turn into Erling Haaland, but the Norwegian is an example of why you can never write off a player simply based on their starting point.

Keita and Mane

Sadio Mane and Naby Keita also played for RB Salzburg and while the latter has had his injury woes, nobody is discrediting his ability.

If Adeyemi can follow in these players’ footsteps, he’s in line for a brilliant career.

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Lijnders have proven they can work wonders with young talent and so it would be really fascinating to see what they could do with Adeyemi especially as he would come through with Harvey Elliott and would represent the future of Liverpool’s attack.
