Saudi Pro League clubs have earmarked him for a transfer in the summer, and Liverpool are prepared to listen to offers for him.
And according to the Catalan daily Sport, the introduction of the Saudi clubs has more or less killed Barcelona’s hopes of signing Diaz in the summer.
The Saudis are likely to be ready to match Liverpool’s €75m asking price, which Barcelona do not want to pay for the 28-year-old winger.
Barcelona’s only hope lies with the winger insisting on moving to the Nou Camp, but even then, the financial incentive of moving to Saudi Arabia could be too hard to turn down.
