Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to Real Madrid has been inevitable since it became clear that he would not be signing a new contract with the club.
However, what was going to be a free transfer has turned into a financially beneficial move for Liverpool due to Real Madrid’s need to have him in the squad for the Club World Cup next month.
According to The Times, Real Madrid have reached an agreement over a fee with Liverpool to sign the defender early, and his transfer is imminent.
It has been claimed Liverpool are set to pocket as much as £10m from Alexander-Arnold’s early transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Merseyside giants will also save the wages the defender would have been due for the month of June.
Alexander-Arnold will be in the Real Madrid squad when they fly out for the Club World Cup in the middle of next month.
