RB Salzburg star Patson Daka has decided to move to Leicester City after rejected West Ham and Liverpool due to concerns over game time.
Just as Odsonne Eduoard rejected the chance to move to Anfield due to Liverpool’s inability to guarantee him a place in the starting XI, Daka has decided to turn Jurgen Klopp down for the same reason.
He will join Leicester this summer as Fabrizio Romano reported over the weekend and as per Zambian Football, he held talks with Liverpool and West Ham before deciding on a move to the King Power Stadium.
They claim: “Yes, talks with several various clubs which have been mentioned were held but his handlers made it clear that he was only to join a club which was going to offer him game time.
“For instance one of the big clubs held talks with his people and both sides were honest with each other.
“The club was eager to sign him but didn’t see him as a first-choice centre forward. They wanted him to start as a fringe player. But his management didn’t agree with that proposal.”
We reported exclusively last week that Liverpool have been in contact with Fiorentina regarding Dusan Vlahovic but their huge £60million asking price.
The Reds are in need of a clinical centre-forward after Roberto Firmino struggled to contribute regularly in attack this season.
Donyell Malen is part of Holland’s Euro squad is yet to be sold by PSV Eindhoven and would be a great addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Like Daka, he’s only 22 and has his best years ahead of him.
In 45 games this season, the Dutchman scored 27 goals and assisted 10 which is a lot more than Firmino managed. Crucially, Malen is able to play on the wing as well as in a central role.
Versatility and fluid movement are crucial traits in forwards playing under Klopp and they also need to be able to press high up the pitch and as he’s shown this summer, Malen is able to trigger the press for the Netherlands national team.
