Julien Laurens, who relayed the news that Real Madrid had bid €160m for Kylian Mbappe, now claims that Kylian Mbappe is focused on joining Real Madrid.
The French football expert relayed the news of Real Madrid’s insane €160million offer for Mbappe and suggests that he is focused only on joining Real Madrid.
Laurens told talkSPORT (Wednesday, August 25, 10:20 AM): “He’s done it all in France, apart from winning the Champions League. He’s scored 133 goals in 170 appearances.
“He wants to go to bigger things, Real Madrid are a bigger club than PSG. La Liga is a bigger league than Ligue 1.

“We could say the same about Liverpool, he will fancy one day playing for a club like Liverpool, to play in the Premier League one day. But right now his focus is on Real Madrid.”
Deep down fans knew Mbappe would not join Liverpool
Financially, Mbappe moving to Anfield has also been something of an impossibility. Whether or not the club can afford it is up for debate but there is a strict wage structure in place that would not allow it to happen.
Even Mohamed Salah, who has scored 126 goals for Liverpool will not earn the wages that the Frenchman will be offered by Real Madrid and he’s won the Premier League and the Champions League during his time as a Red.

Yet, it’s still hard not to be disappointed that even at Liverpool’s most successful point in the last 30 years, they’re unable to compete with the likes of Madrid.
Unable to or unwilling. It’s unclear which. FSG have made it blatantly clear that they will not run the club the way that other owners operate and that’s respectable.
And while I don’t think there’s any point in making marquee signings simply for the sake of it, signing a player like Kylian Mbappe guarantees success.
Hopefully, Liverpool are passing up on this opportunity to sign the likes of Erling Haaland down the line.
