Liverpool’s pre-season has seen them travel to Asia, Germany and now to the beautifully scenic Austria.
Next up is another pre-season friendly against RB Salzburg before heading back to London to face Manchester City in the Community Shield on Saturday.
This game will pose a different test for Jurgen Klopp’s side as Salzburg have already started the defence of their Austrian title and will be sharp and ready to perform in front of a sold-out crowd.
Klopp today has revealed the extent of the injury issues and which key players will miss the game.

Liverpool team news ahead of RB Salzburg friendly
As reported by the Liverpool FC official website, Klopp claims Diogo Jota and Alisson will not be available for this game.
“Obviously Diogo [Jota] is not here, that’s clear, but from the boys who are injured but are here, Ali is the closest – definitely not for Salzburg but then we will see. He is close to get back I think.” Klopp revealed.
“Between now and five o’clock, it’s now 2pm and between now and 5pm I will wait for messages and see who can train this afternoon properly. Then the game tomorrow, we will see.”
Other than those absentees, expect a strong side to feature for Liverpool as that game against City on Saturday will certainly be on their minds as the season draws ever closer.
Players to watch
For Liverpool, fans will be counting down the minutes to see four-goal hero Darwin Nunez in action again following his stellar performance against Leipzig.
Fans will also be keen to see young stars Harvey Elliot, Fabio Carvalho and even Stefan Bajcetic; the 17-year-old impressed off the bench against Leipzig and could get up to 30 minutes again.
For Salzburg, all the buzz will be around Benjamin Šeško – the tall, fast and powerful forward being compared to Erling Haaland.
Another lesser-known name would be Noah Okafor, Salzburg’s third-highest-ever signing who is directly involved in a goal every 78 minutes.
