Khvicha Kvaratskhelia told Sportall that after talks with Leeds United which he says ‘may continue’, he is most interested in working with Jurgen Klopp.
After Soccer.Ru claimed that Leeds wanted the 20-year-old in May, he confirmed that talks were underway and may continue but what he said next was really fascinating.
“I can not confirm anything at this stage, but negotiations are underway with a number of teams. Everything is entering a crucial phase,” Kvaratskhelia told Sportall.
“There were negotiations with Leeds, they may continue. The most interesting thing will be working with Jürgen Klopp.”

Kvaratskhelia is a scintillating player to watch and is one of the most entertaining dribblers out there, relying on his unbelievable pace to destroy fullbacks but his control and trickery on the ball are what make him so successful.
He can play on either wing or as an attacking midfielder which could be useful to Liverpool but just like Jeremy Doku, he doesn’t have the goals and assists to warrant a move to Anfield.
In 23 Russian Premier League games this season, Kvaratskhelia scored 4 goals and got 8 assists which isn’t awful but Liverpool need a forward that can already guarantee double digits.
Interestingly, if Leeds United are in for the player, it could open the door for Jurgen Klopp to sign Raphinha, who has been strongly linked with a move to Merseyside recently but with the Peacocks likely to demand over £50million for his services, it will be tricky for the German to sign him.
This summer is vitally important for Liverpool, who are looking to avoid going two seasons without silverware after winning the Champions League and Premier League in consecutive campaigns.
As one of the best coaches in the world, there is no doubt that Klopp will solve many of his issues on the training ground but buying the right players is crucial and in RB Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate, he has already bought wisely.
The Frenchman is a colossus and helps the Reds solve a defensive injury crisis that derailed the 2020/21 season but with Liverpool looking to bounce back and reclaim the league title, Konate will be one to watch.
Midfield is also an area that needs reinforcement but the most exciting part of the pitch that is likely to be invested in is the attack.
Raphinha is my preferred option while Dusan Vlahovic is also an incredible player that could give Klopp’s side a much more clinical focal point than Roberto Firmino does and while Patson Daka is a fantastic player, links to the Zambian are currently tenuous at best.
While each fan will have their own preference, it will be fascinating to see who winds up moving to Liverpool.
