Bundesliga journalist Patrick Berger reports that Karim Adeyemi will make a decision on his future in January although he will only move in the summer.
While Mohamed Salah has been a shining light for Liverpool this season, questions still remain over whether or not Jurgen Klopp’s other forwards have what it takes to lead the line alongside the Egyptian.
Mo has 9 goals and 3 assists this season but it must be said that Sadio Mane has been much improved after previous issues over his form.
5 goals in 9 games is a great return and his movement for his strike against Manchester City was world-class and hopefully, Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino can inspire each other to top form.
Signing Adeyemi, however, would give Liverpool more depth in attack and a more direct option to unlock the most stubborn defences.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Reds are in pole position to sign the winger and Transfermarkt suggests it will cost €30m to recruit him.
Now, Sport1’s Patrick Berger says a decision will be made in the winter transfer window over where his future lies but it does look as though he will move to Germany and not England.
Of course, that could still change but although he says Liverpool are interested, he mentions Dortmund head coach Marco Rose is a big fan and that Adeyemi “prefers a move to Germany.”
Remarkably, Adeyemi has won four penalties in the Champions League this season which highlights just how dangerous he can be in the opponents’ 18-yard area.
Liverpool are rarely awarded spot-kicks so having someone that seems to be a specialist in winning them would be fantastic especially with a penalty kick taker as prolific as Mohamed Salah on the books.
However, it seems as though he prefers a move to Germany and I really can’t blame him as he’d play significantly more football at a club like Dortmund or Bayer Leverkusen.
Time will tell who Adeyemi chooses this January but with Michael Edwards set to leave the club in the summer, it would be great if he could secure a top talent before his exit.
