Report: FSG willing to sanction €100m move – Klopp sent ‘express request’ to American owners for ‘perfect fit’

SEVILLE, SPAIN - JUNE 19: Pedri of Spain looks on during the UEFA Euro 2020 Championship Group E match between Spain and Poland at Estadio La Cartuja on June 19, 2021 in Seville, Spain.

Jurgen Klopp is reportedly in love with Barcelona midfielder Pedri and is desperate to bring him to Anfield next summer, according to OK Diario.

They claim: “It is in fact an express request from Jürgen Klopp to the red leaders.

“The German is in love with his game, his style, pause and vision of the field. He considers that the footballer is a perfect fit for what he intends for the future in Liverpool.”

The Spanish outlet reports that FSG are willing to sanction a €100million move for Pedri to get the deal done.

Still only 18, Pedri is one of the most exciting talents in Europe and is coming off a season in which he played 75 games for club and country in La Liga, Copa Del Rey, the Champions League, in the EUROs and at the Olympics with Spain.

That kind of stamina is incredible but there is cause for concern as accumulative fatigue can lead to muscle injuries but fortunately, the midfielder was given a two-week break recently to give his body the chance to rest.

Signing a player like Pedri would further illustrate how far Liverpool have come under Jurgen Klopp.

From the side that couldn’t hold on to Philippe Coutinho to potentially stealing the Catalonians’ next big talent, the Reds will have come full circle.

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK - JUNE 28: Pedri and Ferran Torres of Spain celebrate their side's victory after the UEFA Euro 2020 Championship Round of 16 match between Croatia and Spain at Parken Stadium on June 28, 2021 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Pedri is so much more than just another technical player from Barcelona and as evidenced by the unbelievable number of games he played last season, he’s a fighter.

Jurgen Klopp famously called his team ‘Mentality Monsters’ and a player like the Spaniard seems like he would have little trouble fitting in with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah in terms of his attitude and approach to the game.
