Mohamed Salah is one of Liverpool’s longest servants at the club this season.
This campaign is his eighth year at the club. Salah joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017. The former Chelsea star was not expected to be a success after his poor stint in England with the blues. However, in his first season with the reds, he burst onto the scene. 32 goals and 10 assists in his first year with Liverpool saw the club finish fourth in the Premier League.
Mohamed Salah this season is playing some of his best football at the club. He is one of the biggest reasons the team is currently top of the league. The Egyptian international also publicly mentioned that this could be his last year at Anfield. His contract expires this summer and he has interest from multiple teams. Saudi Pro League clubs, and Paris Saint-Germain are expected to push to sign Salah in the summer window.
Quiz: Can you name the team Liverpool signed these players from?
Jamie Carragher speaks on Mohamed Salah contract situation

Liverpool are yet to announce a new deal for the 32-year old. Salah has also made it clear that he would consider staying at Anfield if his terms are met. The forward reportedly turned down a contract worth £65million over two years from Al-Hilal. Salah wanted to remain at the club till the end of the season. The Egyptian international is eager to win the Premier League this year.
Jamie Carragher has now weighed in on Mohamed Salah’s contract situation:
“[I] do not believe he hasn’t been offered a contract. I can actually assure you he has been offered a contract,” Carragher said on The Overlap.
When Paul Scholes mentioned that Salah can perform at the highest level for a few more years, Carragher agreed.
“I agree. For me, because they’re still so good now. I understand what they’ve done for the club but they’re still so good right now that I don’t think you can be offering them a year. It’d have to be two.
“I’d be gutted if Liverpool didn’t sign them but I’d also be looking at them like, why haven’t you signed? The team is made for them, it is loved, where are they gonna go? Other clubs aren’t going to give them the money or give them long contracts, certainly in Europe.”
Is there really a contract offer?
Only Liverpool and Mohamed Salah can confirm or deny if there is an offer on the table. However, numerous reports indicate that there is a two-year deal. Salah is eager to continue playing at the top level and that is why he has refused to join the Saudi Pro League. Liverpool need to sort out Salah’s future immediately, for the sake of the fans.
