Sources: Man Utd close in on fee agreement with personal terms in place; LFC yet to make a move

PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC - OCTOBER 11: Jadon Sancho of England reacts during the UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier between Czech Republic and England at Eden Arena on October 11, 2019 in Prague.

A late move for Jadon Sancho is not out of the realms of possibility as the player has previously expressed a willingness to move to Anfield but Liverpool would need to make a decision soon.

We reported exclusively on Friday evening that United were close to agreeing personal terms with the player and while there are still one or two kinks to iron out, the player has an understanding with United over his contract.

The Mirror then reported the following day that personal terms have been agreed and although the two clubs have agreed on a fee, there is still a disagreement over the payment structure as Dortmund want a large portion paid upfront.

Anfield Central sources confirmed that the two parties are closing in on an agreement over a fee which means that with Liverpool still undecided over whether or not to sanction nearly £90million, they will need to speed things up to stand a chance.

£81.5m is the fee that Simon Mullock claims is being demanded by Dortmund but we understand that add-ons bring the valuation closer to £90m but for Liverpool, their failure to sign the player or even be in the running stems from a lesson that United learned the hard way last summer.

Significantly, we are also told that the player has previously expressed a willingness to move to Liverpool but with Liverpool not showing the initiative that United are, they will miss out on a hugely talented player and to their biggest rivals no less by dawdling any longer.

Liverpool are not out of the race to sign Jadon Sancho but they need to catch a wake up in order to do so as Manchester United already have personal terms agreed with the player.

We reported on Saturday: “We are told by one source that Liverpool believed they had the duration of the EUROs to contemplate a deal for Sancho but after United were left looking silly when they were turned away by Dortmund after missing their deadline last summer, they have acted proactively this summer.

“The Old Trafford side has been sluggish and slow to react in the transfer market in the past and while it’s taken them a year and potentially cost them a shot at the Premier League title, they’ve taken a big step towards signing Sancho and now Liverpool look a bit silly.”

The Reds could still reach an agreement with Dortmund at which point the decision will be left to Jadon Sancho on where to move but as things stand, United seem destined to get their man.
