Injuries have been a recurring theme at Liverpool (Credits: Imago Images)
The international break is always a time when tensions rise at football clubs. As players move away to seek glory with their national teams, the medical staff at various football clubs must be prepared for the worst upon their return.
Recently, Ibrahima Konaté appeared to be fine as he played against Ukraine in France’s 2-0 win over the Eastern European side. There were concerns regarding the defender’s fitness following the knock he suffered in Liverpool’s last game against Arsenal.
There is also Jeremie Frimpong, as the Dutchman is still recovering from a hamstring injury sustained in his debut Premier League match against Bournemouth.
This put Arne Slot in a difficult position, considering the current defensive landscape at Liverpool. The Reds missed out on Newcastle United captain Marc Guéhi in the summer.
The Englishman would’ve solved the Merseysiders’ defensive problems, but destiny had other plans for the defender. Arne Slot will have to be careful with his line of last men till January at least, until they find a solution in the winter transfer window.
Frimpong is doing well and is recovering in Liverpool at the moment, as he didn’t join his Dutch teammates for the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Slot will be hoping to use the full-back against Burnley. If not, Conor Bradley is always there to cover up the right wing, but the medical staff will also need to be a bit careful with the Northern Irish defender following recent incidents.

Liverpool face Conor Bradley injury concerns

Conor Bradley was one among the many stars on RheinEnergieStadion as Germany faced Northern Ireland in Group A of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
Die Nationalelf had returned from Bratislava after a humiliating 2-1 defeat to Slovakia. The Germans had to win this game to set a positive tone for their campaign.
Despite all efforts, the Green and White Army fell short as Germany defeated them on home soil. The game ended 3-1 as Conor Bradley saw an eight-star rating handed out by publications.
However, the match will raise some concerns among the Liverpool medical staff as Bradley suffered a facial injury during the game.
Though the Northern Irishman didn’t leave the field, signalling minor disturbance, the Reds’ management will be keen on discussing the nature of the injury.
Slot will be left with tough choices to make if the Castlederg native signals out against Burnley and Frimpong doesn’t report to duty.
