After missing out on Europe’s top competition following a disappointing fifth-place Premier League finish last season, Liverpool are back under Arne Slot and showing early signs of recapturing their European form.
The victory over Milan was a major statement as they kicked off their Champions League campaign with style.
While Liverpool celebrated a composed performance and a crucial win, they weren’t the only ones thrilled by AC Milan’s defeat. Their city rivals, Inter Milan, were also pleased by the result—and some of their fans made that very clear.

As it happens, Inter Milan supporters weren’t shy about celebrating AC Milan’s defeat either.
According to TNT Sports on Twitter, Inter fans were caught on camera chanting for Liverpool while aboard a flight from Milan to Manchester.
On the flight, Inter and Liverpool fans crossed paths, and as some in Inter shirts spotted the Reds faithful returning from their victory, a chant broke out:
“Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool!” the Inter fans sang. “Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool, Liverpool! Liverpool!”

For Inter supporters, watching their eternal rivals lose is almost as sweet as seeing their own team win.
