Liverpool and Manchester have battled it out since 2018 for the title and many expect it to be exactly the same this season.
Only Manchester United have come between the two sides when they finished second in the 2020/21 season.
With the big money signings from both sides, we should see another intoxicating title race between Liverpool and City.
Most seem to have backed a City win once again, but not everyone is convinced.

“I don’t know about City…” pundit tips Liverpool for the title
Andy Goldstein speaking on TalkSport isn’t convinced about City winning the title again and has explained why he believes Liverpool are early favourites.
“I don’t know with Man City, it pains me to say it but the way things are going with the players he’s sold and the new players coming in, but my early favourites are Liverpool,” claimed Goldstein on his TalkSport radio show.
“They’ll be times this season when they’ll look to the bench to want to change things up; Foden will be starting, so will Mahrez and Haaland. They’ve got the new kid in Alvarez, but he’s untried and untested in this league.
“I know the season hasn’t started and the window hasn’t closed but right now, I think City are weaker.”

Who has conducted the better business?
Liverpool have signed Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsey as well as retaining Mohamed Salah and Joe Gomez on long-term deals securing themselves a strong window.
Whereas City signed striking superstar Erling Haaland, Leeds’ Kalvin Phillips and a backup goalkeeper in Stefan Ortega.
Clearly, both teams have signed big names and talented squad players but the outgoings are definitely where Goldstein’s point originates from and it could decide the league title.

City have let key squad members such as Raheem Sterling, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus all leave. All of these players have played a strong role in their squad in recent years and allowing three to leave at once could be problematic.
New signings aren’t a guarantee of success, but it’s certainly a risk and a risk that Pep Guardiola hasn’t really made so far at City.
Liverpool let key man Sadio Mane leave for Bayern Munich and have replaced him with ex-Benfica star Nunez. The club also let backup attackers such as Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi leave as well. The Reds could be under pressure as Salah and Luis Diaz remain the only natural wingers in the squad.
