Florian Neuhaus will not leave the club this year, his manager has confirmed, according to Sport1 journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The LFC Transfer Room held a Q&A with the Sport1 journalist a couple of weeks ago and he revealed to them that there were multiple calls between Klopp and Neuhaus.
He said: “[The transfer is] not likely this window. There were calls between [Jurgen] Klopp and [Florian] Neuhaus’ management.”
Now, the journalist has relayed news from Max Eberl, manager of Borussia Monchengladbach, and it seems as though Neuhaus will not leave the club.

Liverpool clearly wanted to sign Neuhaus, who would have cost €40million and while his press resistance might have made him the ideal replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, I’m relieved.
I’m not the German’s biggest fan although a player that Jurgen Klopp likes is clearly someone to keep an eye on so you should watch out for the 24-year-old this season.
If not Neuhaus then who?
Well, if Jurgen Klopp’s hearty response to a question from the Athletic’s James Pearce is anything to go by, Liverpool won’t be signing a midfielder at all.

The manager was asked if Renato Sanches or Saul are on the club’s transfer list after repeatedly being linked with the Reds this summer.
Klopp’s response was to tell Pearce to name players he could sign that would fit Liverpool’s squad better than the ones he already has.
Of course, Klopp is never going to come right out and tell a room full of journalists calling in via Zoom that the club is desperately trying to complete signings for obvious reasons.

It’s difficult to tell if his response was a reaction borne out of frustration at the club’s lack of transfer activity this summer or if it was annoyance at the journalist focusing on transfers and not previewing the Norwich game as he was was supposed to.
It might’ve been a combination but it would’ve been really fascinating if James Pearce named a player and Liverpool ended up signing him!
What a coincidence that would be…
