It is almost as if Real Madrid have their eyes on every Liverpool player right now. The rumours just won’t stop following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Los Blancos even paid a small fee to get the English full-back earlier than his contract expiration, as they wanted him to play in the FIFA Club World Cup.

Liverpool defenders seem to be their favourite prey, though, as centre-back Ibrahima Konaté has been heavily linked with the club.

Recent reports revealed that the Frenchman rejected a £185,000-a-week contract from the Reds. His previous salary was around £70,000, and the player was demanding a hike.

Konaté’s agent was in talks with the Merseysiders for an extension, but the deal never materialised despite meeting the player’s monetary appetite.

It won’t be surprising to know that Los Blancos are interested in another Liverpool star. However, it is a revelation that this time it is a midfielder who has caught Xabi Alonso’s eyes.

Liverpool fans are probably fed up with the potential talent drain to Spain. Marc Guéhi was also reported of a preferred move to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Those rumours have ended, though, with a senior football journalist explaining the Englishman’s heart is still stuck at Anfield following an uncertain summer.

Ryan Gravenberch’s links with Real Madrid are an interesting pairing, though. Reports suggest that Los Blancos are expected to sell a midfielder in 2026 and, hence, are looking for a replacement.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, though, has differing opinions. However, the nature of his comments is vague and can be interpreted in multiple ways.

“Liverpool are interested in Gravenberch, they love him! So let them enjoy this great season.” – Romano via Threads.

The viability of a Gravenberch transfer

Romano didn’t directly deny any Real Madrid links, but it probably cancels out a January move for the Dutchman. Evidently, Arne Slot won’t be keen on losing one of the most important pieces of the Liverpool puzzle.

However, Real Madrid are pretty notorious in alluring players through their charm. Arguably the best club in the world with the most UEFA Champions League wins in history, it isn’t hard to see why a player wouldn’t take that step in their career.

But it is also important to notice that Gravenberch seems pretty happy with life in England. There isn’t any personal interest from the player yet, but only further reports can confirm the viability of a transfer.
