Neil Jones has provided some unique insight into the cost behind the Erling Haaland deal and whether or not it’s a deal that Liverpool can afford in the summer.
The Borussia Dortmund star is one of the best players in the world already and there isn’t a supporter in the world that doesn’t want him at their club this summer as his €75m release clause kicks in.
Last season, he scored 41 goals and assisted 12 which is a clear demonstration of what he can achieve across a full season and so far this season, despite missing 10 games due to injury, he has scored 19 goals and assisted 5.
He’s a goalscoring machine. Simple as that.
Whoever signs him is guaranteed goals and if they can structure their team around him properly, they should succeed.
He’s still only 21 as well so he practically guarantees a mini era of success if all goes to plan.
While Cuatro claims that Haaland’s agent, Mino Raiola, has given his word to Barcelona president, Joan Laporta, that the Norwegian will sign for the Catalonians if they can stump up the cash.
Real Madrid were believed to be in the driving seat but it’s now reported that Haaland doesn’t want to share the limelight with Kylian Mbappe, who is expected to move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
Cuatro claims it will cost Barcelona €30m per year plus the option to extend for two more not to mention the buyout clause of €75m plus Raiola’s exorbitant agent fees.
This aligns with reliable journalist Neil Jones has said it will cost for Liverpool or any other interested party to sign the 21-yea-old.
As quoted by The Redmen TV, Jones told the Journo Insight Show the following: “You look at Haaland’s career path, it has been a pretty good one for a young player.
“He has done it step by step, gone to Salzburg, gone to Dortmund and looks like he’s going to go on to somewhere else. I think Liverpool are an attractive club or team to play for, a manager to play for, a ground to play in, a league to play in.
“The big elephant in the room is can they match salary, transfer fee, agents fee, all those things? I think they probably could [match] two of them.
“I think they are willing to pay agents good money, I think they are willing to pay good wages for top players. I think the next question would be are they going to commit £150-200 million for a player? They never have before.”
