Dejan Lovren has revealed that Jurgen Klopp has been texting him since he left the club and how he ignored a message from the German recently.
Speaking to FourFourTwo, Lovren said: “Naturally he was the manager and I was the player who should deliver what he was saying, so sometimes we didn’t have talks in the best mood – especially when I had an injury and he wanted me.
“But we said goodbye to each other as friends. We said that whatever we needed, we could phone each other. It was a very good, open talk.
“Sometimes we still chat. Once he said that he was missing me in the team… but I didn’t reply.”
That’s a bit odd.

The former Southampton defender signed for Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers as part of a £20million deal and had an extremely topsy turvy career at Anfield but he departed the club having won the Champions League and the Premier League.
Lovren has always been an odd character to me. Super talented and physically gifted but his lack of concentration holds him back significantly and it’s why he has never been able to kick on and become a top player.
That and his injury record. The Croatian’s best season at Anfield in terms of fitness was the 2017/18 season when he didn’t miss a single game but he suffered anywhere from 4-6 injuries per season which made him very inconsistent.
Then there is his inexplicable knack for making a fool of himself in interviews. Lovren is well known for making big proclamations in the media before making a huge error in the games following.

I don’t think I will ever forgive Dejan Lovren for costing Liverpool an Invincible & Centurion Premier League and Champions League season in 2018/19.
The Reds finished the league season in second place with 97 points and had they beaten Manchester City when they lost 2-1 at the Etihad thanks to goals from Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane, the Anfield outfit would have finished the season on 100 points with zero losses.
The Croatian allowed Aguero to nip in front of him after losing him in the box, with the City legend converting from a tight angle before he played Raheem Sterling onside in the build up to Leroy Sane’s winner.
Two weeks after the season ended, Liverpool won the Champions League in Madrid after the famous semi-final comeback against Barcelona.
Despite winning a sixth European Cup, it’s mental to think how those two errors from Lovren cost Liverpool hugely.
