Remarkably, former Liverpool goalkeeper David James has claimed that Mo Salah should be sold because the Reds “actually play better without” him.
I’ve heard it all now. I know goalkeepers tend to be a bit mad – and you need to be in order to throw yourself at the feet of a player kicking a ball – but this is one of the worst takes I’ve ever seen.
He told Stadium Astro: “In my eyes, he might be second in the Golden Boot running, but I think Liverpool actually play better without Salah.
“The opportunity for Liverpool to maybe cash in on Salah… as you say, [Diogo] Jota then naturally fits into that front three, [Roberto] Firmino gets more freedom arguably.
“Then Liverpool have a new dynamic upfront rather than what seems to be a reliance, or has been a reliance, on Salah’s goals.”

I’m really not sure what David James has been smoking but Salah is the most important player at the club closely followed by Virgil van Dijk.
